1. State Climate Cell is required to formulate policies, action plan and prioritize research activities and actions in the subject of weather and climate. The global climatic change in recent times has been causing worldwide concern. To handle the emerging situation, we need to generate proper understanding and awareness about the weather and climate, the factors causing their changes, etc. keeping local contexts in view. Education on weather and climate is an immediate issue before us. The Climate Cell will be equipped with experts and networking facilities with various stakeholder departments, educational institutions, central government agencies, research laboratories, etc. this will also help in formulating actions while implementing the National Action Plan on Climate Change formulated by Government of India. The Climate Cell will also monitor with the host institutions where Automatic Weather Systems have been set up.
