Jana Vigyan Mela

1. Jana Vigyan Mela, the very name is indicative of the prime objective to encompass common people in a scientific platform. It is a unique science based community festival to generate scientific awareness amongst the masses at large. This mela will inculcate the education in knowing the world and develop a person's humanity. Education should start from the day-to-day life of people and be linked with our everyday lives. Through the use of newest technologies, scientific development can be demonstrated to the students in a most simplistic manner. It also paves the way for direct interactions of the community with scientists and technocrats including agriculturists, veterinary scientists, engineers, scientists from various science backgrounds etc.
2. The Mela organised from 5-7 February 2010 at Pub-Kamrup College premises at Baihata Chariali, Kamrup. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India and Eminent Scientist formally inaugurated the Mela. Hon’ble Minister of Science & Technology, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarmah was also present in the Mela apart from other distinguished dignitaries. arious Indigenous showcases were shown during the Mela alongwith a Workshop on Indigenous Technology held to mark the Mela.
