Various Program Organised under Science Exhibition are-
State Science fair : State level science fair was held at Guwahati from 27th to 28th February, 2017. Many Scientific exhibits including use of Drone, Space Technology, virtual reality etc. were displayed. Overwhelming response was seen amongst Students, academician, general people. Entire programme was sponsored by Science & Technology Department, Govt. of Assam and implemented by ASTEC and AMTRON jointly.
National Children Science Congress ( state level congress): National Children Science Congress ( NCSC) is an innovative programme supported by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India since 1993 for the children in the age group of 10-17 years being held every year. The children of each state carry out scientific project under guidance of competent teacher and present project report with exhibits first at district level. After selection at district level , they will present their project at state level congress. In a state level congress maximum 26 nos. of children are selected for participation in National level congress. ASTE Council acts as coordinating agency in Assam.
Aryabhatta Science Centre : In 2008, 219 nos. of Aryabhatta science centres were setup in all the development blocks of the state to take science and technology to the student and the common people. These are becoming centre of s&t activities at the grass root level. Sponsored by Science & Technology Department and implemented by ASTEC , Science exhibition cum project presentation are being organised every year within the state.
Mobile Science Laboratory : 2 nos . of Mobile Science Laboratories have been designed by ASTEC for Rashtriya Madhayamic Siksha Abhijan for the benefit of school children. The mobile laboratory not only exhibits the science tools and instruments but also facilitate the students to conduct scientific experiment.
Bigyan yatra : Sponsored by Science & Technology Department, Govt. of Assam, school children were sent to kolkata for visit of Science City as science exposure . The programme was conducted in collaboration with IRCTC, Indian railway.
Jorhat Science centre and Planetarium : The Jorhat Science Centre and Planetarium has been set up by Science & Technology Department, Govt. of Assam in collaboration with National Council of Science Museum. The project was entrusted to ASTEC and completed by 2013 and is fucntional. the Centre is equipped with science exhibits and planetarium show.
